La Maison du Français is a premium French learning platform connecting students across the United Arab Emirates with carefully selected and verified, native French-speaking teachers.

We offer both online lessons and home visits, depending on the teacher's availability and coverage area.

Every teacher goes through our selection process before joining the platform. We review each application, including the teacher's identity, background, qualifications, experience and profile, before approving them.

Our goal is simple: to make high-quality French lessons easy to access while maintaining a trusted, professional and consistent experience for every student.

Students can choose the teacher who best matches their needs, learning goals and preferred lesson format.

All bookings and payments are handled securely through the platform, and communication between students and teachers takes place through our messaging system.

1. About these Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to students ("you") who create an account or book French lessons through La Maison du Français (the "Platform").

By creating an account or booking a lesson, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Booking Lessons

Lessons are booked through the Platform for:

• a specific teacher;
• a specific date and time;
• a specific lesson type (online or home visit).

Bookings must be made at least 24 hours before the lesson start time.

Home visits are available throughout the UAE, subject to the teacher's coverage area and availability.

3. Prices & Payments

Lesson prices are clearly displayed on the Platform before you confirm your booking.

Current prices are:

• Online lesson: AED 180 per hour
• Home visit: AED 250 per hour

Payments are processed securely through the Platform using the payment methods available at checkout.

A booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully completed.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

You may cancel or reschedule a lesson free of charge within 24 hours of making the booking, provided that the request is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson start time.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the lesson start time are non-refundable.

5. Online Lessons

For online lessons, students are responsible for having:

• a suitable device;
• a stable internet connection;
• a quiet and appropriate learning environment.

The Platform is not responsible for interruptions caused by the student's internet connection, device or technical equipment.

6. Home Lessons

For home lessons, a responsible adult must be present or reasonably available for the duration of the lesson when the student is a minor.

Students are expected to provide a safe and appropriate environment for the teacher.

7. Communication

Students and teachers may communicate through the Platform's secure messaging system.

To ensure safety, privacy and proper booking management, users must not exchange personal phone numbers or contact details through the Platform.

Bookings and payments must be made through La Maison du Français.

Any attempt to arrange lessons or payments outside the Platform may result in suspension or termination of the account.

8. Teachers

Teachers available through La Maison du Français are independent educators.

All teachers are native French speakers and are reviewed by La Maison du Français before their profiles are approved.

The review process may include verification of professional experience, qualifications, CV, identity and other information provided by the teacher.

La Maison du Français does not guarantee a specific learning outcome, as progress depends on various factors including the student's participation, attendance and individual learning needs.

9. Teacher Selection & Changes

Students may choose their teacher based on the information available on the Platform.

If a student feels that a teacher is not the right fit, they may contact La Maison du Français for assistance in finding a more suitable teacher.

10. Student Responsibilities

Students agree to:

• provide accurate information when creating an account and making bookings;
• attend lessons on time;
• behave respectfully towards teachers;
• follow the Platform's booking and communication rules;
• provide a suitable environment for home and online lessons.

For minors, the legal guardian remains responsible for the child's participation and supervision.

11. Missed Lessons & Late Arrival

If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson, the lesson will be considered completed and will not be refundable.

If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally end at the originally scheduled time.

Teachers are not required to extend the lesson because of a student's late arrival.

12. Platform & Technical Issues

La Maison du Français will make reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available and functioning properly.

However, temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, technical problems, internet issues or circumstances beyond our control.

13. Privacy

Personal information collected through the Platform is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, logos, designs, text, images and materials belonging to La Maison du Français remain the property of the Platform or its respective rights holders.

They may not be copied, reproduced or used without prior permission.

15. Account Suspension or Termination

La Maison du Français reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account where a user:

• violates these Terms & Conditions;
• provides false or misleading information;
• attempts to bypass the Platform;
• engages in inappropriate or abusive behaviour;
• fails to comply with Platform policies.

16. Changes to These Terms

La Maison du Français may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

1. Purpose

This Teacher Agreement applies to teachers joining La Maison du Français (the "Platform") to provide French lessons to students who book through the Platform.

By creating a teacher account, submitting an application or accepting a booking through the Platform, you agree to comply with this Agreement.

2. Teacher eligibility and information

Teachers must provide accurate and truthful information during the application process, including their identity, nationality, country of origin, qualifications, teaching experience, languages spoken and areas covered for home lessons.

Teachers must provide genuine and up-to-date information and documents. La Maison du Français may review and verify applications before approving a teacher profile.

3. Teacher status

Teachers provide lessons as independent educators and are not employees of La Maison du Français.

Teachers are responsible for their own legal and tax obligations relating to income earned through the Platform.

4. Teacher profile and public information

Once a teacher has been approved, certain information may be displayed on their public profile so that students can choose a teacher.

This may include the teacher's name, nationality, country of origin, teaching information, areas covered for home lessons, biography, profile photo and introduction video, where the teacher has provided the required consent.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring that the information displayed on their profile is accurate and up to date.

5. Introduction video and profile consent

Teachers must provide the appropriate consent before their introduction video is displayed publicly on the Platform.

A separate consent may be requested when uploading the video: "I consent to my introduction video being displayed on the La Maison du Français website and shown to students."

6. Professional standards

Teachers agree to:

• provide lessons professionally and respectfully;
• arrive on time for home lessons and join online lessons on time;
• prepare appropriately for each lesson;
• provide teaching consistent with the information presented in their profile;
• treat students and families respectfully and professionally;
• maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

7. Bookings, availability and cancellations

Teachers are responsible for keeping their availability up to date on the Platform.

Once a lesson has been confirmed, teachers are expected to honour the booking.

If a teacher is unable to provide a confirmed lesson, they must notify La Maison du Français as soon as possible.

Repeated cancellations, late arrivals or no-shows may result in suspension or removal from the Platform.

8. Communication

Teachers may communicate with students through the Platform's messaging system.

Teachers must not share their personal phone number or other personal contact details for the purpose of arranging lessons outside the Platform.

9. No circumvention

Students introduced to a teacher through La Maison du Français must remain booked and paid through the Platform.

Teachers must not encourage or arrange for students to book or pay for lessons directly with them outside the Platform.

Teachers must not use contact information obtained through the Platform to bypass the Platform's booking or payment system.

The duration and enforceability of this clause should be reviewed by a UAE lawyer before publication.

10. Platform payments and commission

All lessons booked through La Maison du Français must be paid through the Platform's designated payment process.

For each completed lesson booked through the Platform, La Maison du Français retains a 20% platform commission from the lesson price.

The remaining 80% is paid to the teacher according to the payment schedule and payment terms communicated by La Maison du Français.

Teachers must not request or accept direct payment from students for lessons booked through the Platform.

11. Home lessons

Teachers providing home lessons must respect the privacy, safety and home environment of students and their families.

Teachers must maintain professional conduct during all home visits.

Teachers must only accept home bookings in areas that they have listed as available on their profile.

12. Confidentiality and student privacy

Teachers must keep students' and families' personal information confidential.

This includes names, phone numbers, addresses, messages and any personal information shared during lessons.

Teachers must not use or disclose student information for purposes unrelated to providing lessons through La Maison du Français.

Teachers must not photograph, record or publish images, videos or personal information relating to students without the appropriate consent.

13. Accuracy of qualifications and information

Teachers confirm that all information and documents provided to La Maison du Français, including qualifications, experience and identity information, are accurate and genuine.

Providing false or misleading information may result in rejection, suspension or removal from the Platform.

14. Suspension and termination

La Maison du Français may suspend or remove a teacher's profile if the teacher:

• breaches this Agreement;
• provides false or misleading information;
• attempts to circumvent the Platform;
• accepts direct payments from Platform students;
• repeatedly cancels lessons or fails to attend confirmed lessons;
• breaches confidentiality;
• behaves inappropriately towards a student or family; or
• fails to meet the Platform's professional, quality or safety standards.

15. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws applicable in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

16. Acceptance

By creating a teacher account and submitting an application, the teacher confirms that they have read, understood and agree to this Teacher Agreement.

La Maison du Français ("La Maison du Français", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how it is protected, and your rights when you use the La Maison du Français website and platform (the "Platform").

La Maison du Français provides two types of accounts:

• Student accounts
• Teacher accounts

Student Accounts

When you create a Student account, make a booking or use the Platform, we may collect:

• Messages exchanged through the Platform
• Payment and transaction information
• Information you voluntarily provide to us

A Student account may be used by an adult booking lessons for themselves or by a parent or legal guardian booking lessons for a child.

Teacher Accounts

When a teacher applies to join La Maison du Français, we may collect:

• Country of origin
• City of residence
• Professional biography

• Teaching qualifications and certifications

• Languages spoken

Information submitted by teachers is reviewed by La Maison du Français as part of our teacher selection and approval process.

Once a teacher has been approved, selected information may be displayed on their public teacher profile.

2. How We Use Personal Data

• Create and manage Student and Teacher accounts
• Process and manage lesson bookings
• Allow Students to search for and select teachers
• Display teacher profiles and availability
• Organise online and home lessons
• Process payments and transactions
• Enable communication through the Platform's messaging system
• Review and manage Teacher applications
• Verify information and qualifications provided by Teachers
• Provide customer support
• Manage cancellations and rescheduling
• Maintain and improve the Platform

We only collect and use personal information for purposes relevant to operating and providing our services.

3. Payments

Payments are processed through the payment provider or providers available on the Platform.

Payment information may be processed directly by the relevant payment provider.

La Maison du Français does not need to store your full card details in order to process a booking.

Where payments are processed through Ziina, certain payment-related information may be handled in accordance with Ziina's own Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

4. Communication and Messaging

The Platform provides a secure messaging system allowing Students and Teachers to communicate regarding lessons and bookings.

Messages may be accessible to:

• the Student involved in the conversation;
• the Teacher involved in the conversation;
• authorised members of La Maison du Français when necessary to provide support, manage bookings, resolve issues or maintain Platform security.

Users are encouraged not to share sensitive personal information through the messaging system.

5. Sharing of Personal Data

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share relevant personal information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform, including providers responsible for:

• database and hosting services;
• payment processing;
• email and notification services;
• technical infrastructure;
• security and fraud prevention.

Certain Platform data may be stored or processed using Supabase or other technology providers used by La Maison du Français.

We may also disclose personal information where required by applicable law, regulation, court order or competent authority.

6. Teacher Public Profiles

Once a Teacher has been approved, selected information from their application may be displayed publicly on their Teacher profile.

This may include:

• Name
• Professional photo
• Biography
• Teaching experience
• Qualifications
• Specialisations
• Languages spoken
• Teaching format
• Areas covered for home lessons
• Availability
• Introduction video

Private documents such as identity documents, CVs and verification documents are not displayed publicly.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against:

• unauthorised access;
• loss;
• misuse;
• alteration;
• unauthorised disclosure.

Access to personal information is restricted according to the user's role and the purpose for which access is required. For example:

• Students can access their own account, bookings and messages.
• Teachers can access information relating to their own profile, bookings and relevant Students.
• Teachers cannot access other Teachers' private information.
• Private Teacher documents are accessible only to authorised members of La Maison du Français.

However, no online platform or electronic transmission of information can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

• providing our services;
• managing accounts and bookings;
• maintaining appropriate business records;
• resolving disputes;
• complying with legal and regulatory obligations.

When personal information is no longer required, it may be deleted or anonymised in accordance with applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers
